The new highly skilled migrant minimum salary requirements for 2023 are announced now!
This is one of our most frequently asked question from clients: how much should we pay our international employee to successfully get their highly skilled migrant permit?
It is confirmed that the minimum salary amounts will increase from 2022’s requirements by 3.47%. This will be effective from 1 January 2023.
See below the new minimum salary requirements, all of which are excluding 8% holiday pay, variable bonusses and a 13th month that is not paid in 12 equal parts on a yearly basis.:
- Highly skilled migrants 30 years or older: €5,008 gross per month (€ 4,840.00 in 2022)
- Highly skilled migrants younger than 30 years: €3,672 gross per month (€ 3,549.00 in 2022)
- Reduced salary criterion: €2,631 (€ 2,543.00 in 2022)
- European Blue Card €5,867 (€ 5,670.00 in 2022)
For all new applications or extensions of a highly skilled migrant permit submitted on or after 1 January 2023, the new salary requirements must be met at the time of application.
These requirements also apply for short stay work permits requested at the UWV for highly skilled migrants, intra-corporate and transfers and those highly skilled migrants who work in the Netherlands while residing in other EU countries.
